BIOGRAPHY

He is currently a full professor in the Department of Informatics at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. He has published over 100 publications in areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Data Science, Big Data analytics, Software Engineering, Knowledge-based Systems, ontologies, and Information Systems. He has supervised many postgraduate students (PhDs and Masters) and regularly serves as an external examiner at several international universities. He also holds visiting professorships at several universities in Africa and Asia. He has served as the Principal Investigator of many grant-funded research projects in the domain of AI and Health Informatics. He is a member of the editorial board of four computing journals and is a member of the technical programme committee of several international computing conferences. He is a reviewer for several top computing journals and grant-awarding agencies.
